Big Bang And Religion-The Great Divide?Maybe Not So Great

April 12, 2008

In 1963, Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson, while working with the now famous, “horned antenna,” at Crawford Hill, N.J., made what science calls one of the greatest accidental discoveries of the 20th century.

The two researchers, using the receiver, were working for Bell Labs and, as chance would have it, they ran into what they thought was a snag; background noise.

As they attempted to find the cause of what they thought was a problem, they became more frustrated as time went on, even to the point of cleaning pigeon droppings from the outside of the machine- to no avail.

From the Alcatel-Lucent web-site: “They had been using an ultra-sensitive microwave receiving system to study radio emissions from the Milky Way when they found an unexpected background of radio noise with no obvious explanation. It came from all directions and, after repeated checks, it appeared to emanate from outside the Galaxy.”

To read the full article on the Alcatel-Lucent site, click here.

As fate would have it, it was realized that the background noise was actually micro-waves, and, was a remnant of what science calls the, “Big Bang,” theory. The Scientific community now had the smoking gun it needed to prove their much ballyhooed theory of how the universe came into existence. For this, they reason, is the echo one would hear from a literal and epic explosion that started all that we behold today. .

The Big Bang theory to most in science remains the most viable solution in relation to how time, space and matter came into existence. This theory does not explain where the, “energy,” that caused the big bang came from. There are hypotheses as to how this initial energy existed in the beginning however. We will not be discussing that subject at this time however.

The word, “energy,” comes from the Greek word, “energos,” which means, “active, working.” It is interesting to note that energy plays an important role in all fields of science. But it is the theory of the big bang that really puts everything else in proper perspective. Now the question is how was energy, “active and working,” before time, space and matter materialized? Will anyone maintain that energy did not exist before the Big Bang?

Physics rightly relates to us that energy is never created, nor, destroyed. One cannot get away from the persisting thought that, “active and working,” in relation to energy that is never created nor destroyed indicates living, or alive.

My proposal then is that, “Energy,” was very much living before time, space and matter was created. I further believe, much to the chagrin of the science community, that this energy is actually an intelligent entity. At this point I am very well aware that I stand opposed to science. I further declare that if I were a scientist, my career would be drawing to a close, as other scientist’s careers have plummeted after having dared to ask questions in regards to Intelligent Design.

This is very unfortunate indeed. I personally feel that a person is smug and pretentious if they attempt to close all doors of thought that would speculate on something other than what is commonly accepted in the science community. Why would a group never allow a broad brush of thought to enter into their realm? Because, it is argued, that God cannot be scientifically and empirically tested in any form whatsoever. And so it is true we cannot literally put God into a lab to be tested as we could an animate object. However, we can approach this question in a different manner.

Is it true that creation or intelligent design cannot be scientifically studied as some contend? Aristotle was one who attempted to show that the divine, however he viewed it, could be empirically categorized. Of course he ultimately failed, as others have. They used the wrong approach however. Had he used the Bible as a reference, he would have had a much better chance at proving his theory.

Although we cannot test the Intelligent Design theory in a laboratory, we can test the Bible in a number of scientific areas to determine its true worth.

The Bible can, and has been used as a window into the mysteries of the universe and life for many years. Not so long ago science and religion were intertwined, and the belief was that one was deficient without the other. Then came the era when most of science completely abandoned the Bible altogether. I understand the reasoning behind such a swing. However, I disagree with the premises that motivate this type of thinking.

The Bible, for example, has been shown to agree with history in many ways, such as Biology, Cosmology, Archaeology, Astronomy, Anthropology, and even to a certain degree, Paleontology.

The Bible tells us also, that in the beginning, there was disorder and confusion, which would be the true effect of such a violent explosion or, Big Bang. This thought will raise the ire of the religious, “Full Grown,” theorists I know. Their theory explains that just as Adam and Eve were created full grown, so too were the heavens and the earth created full grown. However, my understanding of this issue is based upon this verse from Genesis:

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, Genesis 1:2.

It is common knowledge among scholars and students of the Bible that, “without form and void,” denote’s confusion and disorder. Why would there be confusion and disorder had there been a smooth transition to this realm that we reside in? However, this is a different subject for a different day I suppose.

After this event of universal violence, there comes at some point, the beginning of an orderly universe and earth. The Bible does not give us every aspect and detail of His scientific work in the creation, for the Bible is not a science book per se. Even though there is science to be found within It’s pages. Facts that would have been impossible for mankind to know back then. This is common knowledge, but is ignored by many that claim an open mind.

The Bible for instance indicates where man originated. Science agree’s that the Bible’s reference on this point is most likely a fact. Please refer to Genesis 2:10-14. This reading states that man was formed in Africa. Science declares that man originated within; Africa.

The Bible states that man was formed from the earth, in conjunction with what science teaches:

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7

Coincidence? Remember, Genesis was written many centuries ago, a fact that should not be overlooked. Science states rightly, that man came from the earth, with the help of, “energy.”

Science says that energy is not created and that it never dies. If energy is not created and never dies, I propose emphatically, that energy has always been in existence, as the, “Creator.” If not, why not? It is taught by science that life was formed with energy in the form of lightning. Again, I must propose that God is the energy that formed life, and He did not necessarily have to use lightening in doing so.

Energy is the heart and soul of the continual laws of nature that rule our realm. The earth, our solar system, the universe, are all subject to orderly laws that are constant. If there was indeed a Big Bang which I do not doubt, then it was the Creator that brought it about.

How can anyone propose that an orderly universe was established by an explosion of epic proportions and not end up in a constant chaotic state? No, this could only be a reality at the hand of an Intelligent Creator.

Creation Is Science-Science Is Creation

July 19, 2007

“From eternity were the particles… and the particles became complex living stuff. And the living stuff became aware, and the living stuff conceived of god.”

The above is an actual quote from an unbeliever and obviously an angry atheist. His words can clearly be understood as an insult toward believers in the Creator and His creation. It is actually an attempt to poke comical fun at those of us that  passionately feel religion is truth.

Not all in the forefront of science feel this way however, which impresses me much more. I would say that most honest scientists are agnostic. They neither affirm God nor deny His existence. They have enough sense to regognize that               they have no proof that there is no God.

The truth is, that for the most part atheists, or pseudo  philosophers, are actually outside the scope of science and looking in from the sidelines. They read data and form opinions from the written words of science. I would speculate that generally preconceived opinions have already been formed in the mind of an atheist. And so we must ask why is this so?

Philosophers for many years have seemed to venture everywhere but to the Creator, God almighty. They tend to look in every direction for the answer to an ideal loving and caring moral society. Everywhere but to the Word of God. Again, I ask why?

If you were to ask this fellow who wrote the above quote about eternity, what could his answer be? It would be speculation and opinion I can assure you. If you were to inquire from whence came the particles he speaks of, and how did they originate, we would be offered more of the same speculation and opinion. If you were to ask him how the particles became complex living stuff, and how the living stuff became aware enough to conceive anything at all, we would certainly be treated to more of the same type of reasoning.

These folks who will adamantly deny the possibility of God offer scant evidence that God does not exist. These same people will ridicule the believers as some kind of fanatical nuts without convincing arguments for their own beliefs!

They of course do not see their selves in this manner. They will forcefully claim that scientific knowledge of observable data proves beyond doubt that the universe and all contained therein closes the door to a supreme Creator.

Many of these folks do not even understand the principles of the scientific theories that they use to promote their atheistic belief’s. Most of us have access to scientific data, and what I find is that these scientific truths bolster my belief in God. The facts of science only help me to see and understand just what an awesome God my Father actually is. Most atheists will close all avenues of thought to a supreme Creator which could be based on any number of reasons. What I have found is that their beliefs are usually based upon more than just scientific data. Their upbringing, personal experiences, and unfamiliarity with Gods Word most likely to some extent play a role. And after all is said and done we Christians are the ones labeled as close minded. I don’t think so.

These same ones will look you in the eyes as they aver that scientific theories are actually based upon observable facts. In short, they tread where most actual scientists will not. Not only this but they have even changed the meaning and definition of the word, “theory.” Here’s the dictionary’s definition,
1.) A well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world; an organized system of accepted knowledge that applies in a variety of circumstances to explain a specific set of phenomena.
2.)A tentative theory about the natural world; a concept that is not yet verified, but that if true would explain certain facts or phenomena.
3.)A belief that can guide behavior.

So after all is said and done a theory is a well-substantiated explanation that is not yet verified! Folks, evolution has been a theory for about 150 years now. What is the hold up? When will this theory be transformed into fact? This will never happen because evolution is the product of the imagination of rebellious and prideful human beings. Some things never change.

The archaeological world also for many years has sought and still seeks to discredit the Bible. It can be seen with study that they have failed miserably in their quest. Time after time the Bible has proved to be accurate when challenged and is a matter of public record..

The questions of creation and life are indeed profound and to peer through the eyes of science in this direction requires mental faculties the average person just does not have. Not all have studied advanced mathematics, physics, astrophysics, or the practical applications behind them. However, there are things that the average person can know relating to understanding what is being taught by the scientific community.

We, as well as science know that just the right chemical elements had to spring forth during the first few nano seconds of a Big Bang. Carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, and iron are the result of nuclear reactions within stars. These materials are the necessities of life by the way. Any variations of as little as 1% one way or the other would have resulted in an earth that would have never been able to sustain any form of life. Using another example, there could have been such a variation that would have produced 100% helium. And that would have ended with the same result.

Slightly different values in any of the events in that first stage of a Big Bang would have resulted in a much different end. How can this be explained logically? There is no reason at all for the equations and values that were set in place by this so called Big Bang.

To state adamantly that science eliminates the proof of God in the face of such knowledge is irresponsible and smug.
I am surprised in the number of physicists and astrophysicists who for the most part will concede to the problem of universal constants or laws (e.g. gravitational constant). Uniform laws that to many would suggest “design” and not “coincidence”. Over the years physicists have grappled with the knowledge of sensitive constants that enable life to exist. They are very much aware that had these constants been slightly different, life would not have had a beginning on this earth. They also are aware that “chaos” and not “uniformity” should be, and actually most probably would be the result of a “Big Bang”. This can be observed by experimentation within a smaller setting. Although in all fairness such an experiment might not be achieved accurately using a much smaller model. The exact results may not be observed using fraction formulas. However, just what are the odds of an explosion resulting in perfect order within our universe? In truth I think it safe to say that neither man nor machine could even begin to compute the odds of such an occasion. And in all reality such a claim would be most suspect at the minimum.

It is my belief that such an event as the forming of matter from absolutely nothing is an impossibility. Not to mention our inhabitable earth, living beings and the universe and all the laws and uniformity that go with it.

John Polkinghorne writes that:
“There are … certain givens about our universe … which play an important part in determining its history… quite small variations in any of these fundamental specifications of our world would have rendered it anthropically sterile. … If we accept this view, then a meta-question arises of why things are this way… There seems to be the chance of a revised and revived argument from design appealing to a Cosmic Planner who has endowed his world with a potentiality implanted within the delicate balance of the laws of nature themselves…In short, the claim would be that the universe is indeed not ‘any old world’ but the carefully calculated construct of its Creator.” (1)

And again Paul Davies comments:
“It is hard to resist the impression of something – some influence capable of transcending spacetime and the confinement of relativistic causality – possessing an overview of the entire cosmos at the instant of its creation, and manipulating all the causally disconnected parts to go bang with almost exactly the same vigour at the same time, and yet not so exactly co-ordinated as to preclude the small scale, slight irregularities that eventually formed the galaxies, and us.” (2)
Quotes obtained from CounterBalance

And so science acknowledges this problem of relativistic “coincidences,” which are indeed infinite and the atheist as far as I know does not. They will take a hard-nosed stance and deny the possibility of a Creator. However, more common is that they simply ignore these enigmas. Some will deduce that it is impossible to theorize after the fact. But isn’t that what science does? Are they not attempting to see into the past right back to the beginning of time? The idea of a Creator is not so far fetched when we look at the complications of a world that came into being merely by chance. We behold a world with purpose and design. Oddly and suspiciously enough we do not see chaos. We behold the beautiful laws of nature from the greatest living thing to the smallest. We scan the skies and witness wonderful paintings of sunrises and sunsets that mere mortals could never ever conceive. We now, thanks to the Hubble Telescope, are able to see breath taking views of worlds beyond our own. It is hard for me to believe all of this beauty and apparent careful design had no intelligent Creator. Actually, to a certain degree nature itself convinces me that this world was indeed created by God,
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20).

Until Charles Darwin published his controversial book, “Origin of Species,” science had pretty much operated on the assumption and a belief of a divine Creator. Scientist’s were for the most part religious and believed that what they were discovering and what was to be discovered was directly related to and conceived by God. And so faith in God was pretty much an accepted part of science. With the theory of evolution came a departure from religion and an attitude of indifference. The lines were drawn and the war was on.

The Genesis account of Creation was called into question by those who followed science and the theory of evolution was ridiculed by theology. It seemed that one was either on one side of the fence or the other and there was no middle ground. However, there were those Theologians who would attempt to meet science half way, so to speak. Theories designed to satisfy science and religion began to spring forth. The, “Gap Theory,” which in short offers that God used thousands of years between His creations instead of literal days. The, “Apparent Age Theory,” which explains that God created the heavens, earth, and mankind fully grown. And others.

Indeed, I will be the first to say that it is hard for me to fathom a teaching that says man came from apes. What makes it all the more difficult is that the Bible makes no mention of this theory whatsoever. For many years Anthropologist’s and Paleontologist’s who have discovered a skull have cried, “Eureka, I have found the missing link!” They of course are referring to the proof of evolution in the form of skeletal remains that would clearly show the progress from ape to modern man. What they have discovered so far is neither a missing link, nor even at times, human remains. I am confident that they will not find a true missing link between apes and man.

They seem to be oblivious to the fact that there are variations within all species. It is fact that dogs breed dogs, not cats. A frog breeds frogs, not turtles. Birds breed birds, but not butterflies. This is not hard to understand.

Thousands upon thousands of these variations have become extinct. They have gone the way of the dinosaur. We know that many species have gone extinct even in our own lifetimes, and still do!

I personally can clearly see and partially understand the science of Gods creation. This is hard for unbelievers to see and understand however. Moreover, I have witnessed the providence of God in my own life and those of others who believe. These events are not subject to observation in a scientific sense and can be categorized as coincidence by the unbeliever. They are miracles through prayer however, and

I have observed the powerful results that can only be attributed to a Creator. This is Gods will. All have the ability to choose, for it is a God given freewill action. I will not attempt to convert people through my knowledge of these providential events however. Those in Christ understand these truths and accept them. Those without God in their lives cannot see them. And so I preach, “Christ crucified.”
I preach faith in the fact that the almighty God has sent His only begotten Son so that His creation can draw near to His love. I preach pure and simple faith, belief that the Word of God is able to reach the inner most part of the heart and convince man of their sins.

There is nothing new under the sun. This is because God long ago created all that is needed for the universe, earth and mankind to survive.

The Bible gives the account of the creation of the heavens, earth, and man. The Bible does not delve into the intricate science that God used in doing so. The Bible is not a science book. It is a spiritual guide for man to study and to believe so that he may have a covenant relationship with God. Wayne Jackson has stated well that, “Man would not have written it if he could, and could not have written it if he would.”(3)

The Bible was written by the ultimate Teacher who loves His creation. To imagine that this book was written without divine guidance is folly. However, it is up to each individual to determine what is real and what is fantasy. “As for me and my house, we will worship the Lord.”

The Genesis of Science; The "Big Bang” Beginning

June 21, 2007

In the beginning, some 13.7 to 16 billion years ago, there was
absolutely nothing, zilch, nada. Except that “somewhere”
there was some highly concentrated energy consisting of protons, electrons, and neutrons. This is confusing right from the get go. But… this was necessary In order for the events that were about to unfold in relation to the beginning of space and time as we know it. And then, in one billionth of a second, for some unknown reason, it is speculated, from nothing
came something! This had to have been a type of catalytic event of extraordinary energy and power.

This event is what science calls the, “Big Bang!”

I was taught early on in public schools that evolution was a
factual theory. I was raised in the church but I really didn’t give much time nor attention to the hub-bub that exists between Biblical creationism and the science of evolution. That is until I entered 9th grade.

The science teacher would not teach the chapter that explained evolution. He related to our young and impressionable class that he was a Christian and could not in good faith and conscience teach what he believed to be a falsehood.

From that point on I have desired to be as knowledgeable as I can be in regards to what science teaches and what the Bible tells us about creation. I will admit however that there are certain things that I cannot understand in relation to physics, astrophysics, cosmology, and the other complex divisions of science. So much of science is beyond my grasp, however I do believe that I can understand enough to weigh the scales of science and theology in order to come to a logical conclusion.

Science will argue that there was something somewhere before the great explosion erupted! I agree…there had to have been something, or “someone” somewhere. Science says that there was energy within the fabric, or curtain if you will, of time. Yet how could this be when there was no space nor time before the Big Bang? You just cannot have it both ways. Yet science seems to have an answer for this as well as so much more on the scientific view of the beginning of time and evolution.

We are told that this energy in the form of a very small “primeval super atom,” (that just existed…somewhere) which was very hot and dense, whipped up a gigantic and violent, and very chaotic blast somewhere, somehow out of nothing.

From this blast came sub-atomic particles that produced matter, anti-matter, gases and much more energy. Matter overtakes anti-matter, thus, (time as it were) and space were born.

This was the beginning as science teaches, however, there are
variables within different camps of science as to exactly what
transpired at this particular time. This in itself leaves a lot of
room for guess work.

There was no night nor day such as akin to “relative time”
as we know it. And so there were no 24 hour time periods that we would recognize as such.

And space began to expand on a grand scale to create universes’ and planets and stars since that chaotic and violent beginning of time, so says science. No help was needed in all of these different sequences of events that occurred we are told. These activities were just a result of a random happenstance that transpired in the fabric of nothingness. Just what was this fabric by the way?

Finally, about 4.57 billion years ago, earth was born. The
Sun just happened to be formed in this approximate time line as well, and light came forth. At this point the earth was very hot and life could not yet exist.

And the Earth and other planets and matter began to rotate around the Sun because of just the right amount of gravity that to this day is “constant.”

It is hard for me to believe that the many “constants” all police themselves without outside instructions and correction on every plane. Just a thought.

And the Earth’s rotation around the Sun was most perfect because of it’s magnetic field and the, “constants” that began to rule this galaxy that we call, “The Milky Way.” These constants became very precise and organized. From violence and chaos in the form of a Big Bang came the beginning of perfection and organization. Science says this is perfectly natural. I have experimented with explosives many times as a lad and I can tell you that I never witnessed order in my experiences. I really don’t believe anyone else has either.

At any rate the distance of Earth from the Sun became perfect. The distance of Earth from the Moon became perfect as well. The Earth’s axis tilted just right, and the Earth even wobbles exactly as it should.

About 3.5 billion years ago the Earth was uninhabitable with a lot of gas, but no oxygen. Therefore no life existed. Mankind nor life of any kind could live in this type of environment. Things were beginning to change however.

As the Earth cooled down, energy created bolts of lightning which formed connections, and they fell into the vast oceans. With evaporation of the seas, concentration occurred, creating what is referred to as organic “primal soup”. Amino Acids were formed, and carbon which is speculated to have come from outer space, intermingled and from this lifeless matter came life!

All life forms were simple single-celled beings at this juncture. From the sunlight these lifeforms created photosynthesis. They used carbonic oxide and water to make proteins, and needed energy came from the sunlight as well. Everything on Earth was just right.

And by mere fate, just the right amount of ingredients was now upon the Earth for these one celled beings to live. 6 parts of CO2 (Carbonic oxide) + 5 parts of H2O water) are transformed with help of sunlight into: 1 part of C6H10O5 (farina) + 6 parts of O2 (oxygen). What a coincidence!

And the one celled beings multiplied very quickly and over periods of time, different species of life began to crop up from these simple one celled life forms.

One celled animals evolved into simple beings which later developed into fish like beings that developed into many different species over time. Soon some of the fishes decided it was time to take a stroll on the beach. Before you know it, these beach roamers grew lungs in order to breath air, which was just the right amount of mixture at this time. And then from these came forth many types of land dwellers while
leaving some of their cousins behind in the sea.

Well now, these land dwellers evolved gradually over time into many different species of dinosaurs. Survival of the fittest prevailed among all these creatures and only the strong adapters made it. This is called survival of the fittest.

Dinosaurs ruled the earth until a catastrophe in the form of a Meteor wiped them out. Once again mere fate was on the side of some living beings that survived this catastrophe. Cutting to the chase, mankind finally evolved around 5 million years ago.

Conclusion:

This was the beginning as science teaches, however, there are variables within different camps of science as to exactly what transpired at certain particular time periods. This in itself leaves a lot of room for guess work.

Even though what I have discussed here is just a sampling of all that is taught by science on the history of their perceived
“Genesis” of science, the odds of these few events I have
mentioned actually happening by chance would have to be staggering, no doubt.

Yet, there are those that will demean creationists for their
belief in what they enjoy calling fairy tales and the like. It is
worthy to note that it is not so much the science community that will scoff at Theology. This is because they have enough sense to know that neither their position nor Theology can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. And so most scientists can be categorized as “agnostics.”

I would be willing to guess that most atheists generally have
little education in any science field except what they have read or watched on television, (eg. Discovery, National Geographic channel).

They are for the most part Philosophers and Humanists with strong negative opinions on the subject of religion for any number of reasons. They have little patience for the beliefs of the religion’s of the world and even mock and scold, even in the same manner as the unbelievers that crucified Jesus did. Doesn’t It really say a lot that the Christian will not treat nor provoke the atheist in like manner?

There is one more thing worth mentioning. Atheists for the most part have not really and truly investigated the Book that they love to rail against. If they would do this honestly and sincerely with an open mind, they just might be surprised at what they find. If you are in this category, I urge you to think about this very strongly. Everything depends upon what you do here before you do not have another chance to do so.

Moral values and conscience could only have one source in the
Christians opinion. That source is God, the Creator of all things great or small. Why is there a knowledge of God in all cultures? And yes, why do we have morals, love and conscience reflective of a Maker and not simple chance?

And so it goes. These questions will forever be debated while this earth stands. Faith in God and His word guide me. Some will never be able to understand this way of thinking and living. However, I pray for each and everyone that has not met his or her Creator now while he or she lives. This is much better than meeting Him when you die in an unsaved condition.

He stands at the door lovingly waiting.

In my next article I will discuss briefly why I believe in God,
Jesus, and His Word. Maybe just a little food for thought that will move someone to explore the possibility of obeying the Gospel call.

God Bless,

Gary

Lost On Galapogos

March 30, 2007

“Live Science,” staff writer,” Kar Than,” posted an article dated November 2nd, 2005 called, “Darwin’s natural Selection Still At Work In Humans.” In the very first paragraph this person states that, “The evolutionary process that Charles Darwin discovered almost 150 years ago, responsible for transforming dinosaurs into birds and allowing the walking ancestors of whales to take to the seas, is still quietly at work in humans today.”There is a very big problem with this thinking. First of all it is impossible to validate these statements as fact.

Number one, Charles Darwin did not discover anything other than animals or, “variety,” within a species. Oh yes, survival of the fittest is indeed a reality. However, if one species of, “finches,” devise a way to survive and another does not, this is not by any stretch of the imagination, “evolution.”

Number two, we cannot observe this evolutionary process declared above in a laboratory under controlled circumstances or otherwise. It is irresponsible to make scientific claims as the above without empirical proof! I mean is it not science that has made the rules that govern their vocation? I’m afraid they tend to bend their own rules when faced with problems in their reasonings and deductions.

Number three, we can see with our own eyes that there were Jurassic, “birds,” that lived along side of the huge dinosaurs. Why in the world would anyone think that a dinosaur evolved into a bird? Oh yes, they have found the so called, “missing link.” They have discovered what they call the first bird directly linked to the dinosaur bird??? Please! If you want something to be true bad enough, you can create the evidence to make it appear so. Not exactly science is it?

Number four. A land dwelling animal took to the sea and became a whale? And we Christians are called silly and superstitious? This is ridiculus. It sure takes a wild imagination to come up with this sort of logic. They teach this stuff to your children folks.

I hope you are deeply involved in your children’s school affairs. Make sure that they know the truth of how life began. It may not be as wild and fanciful as the teaching of evolution, but at least they will be able to know that something cannot come from nothing; unless it is created by God. Have your son or daughter ask their science teachers if they can indeed make something from nothing! Can’t be done. Tell them to ask their science teacher to blow something up and see how much order they will get from chaos. This is what science teaches with their, “Big Bang theory.” They say that the universe began with a big explosion. Just look at the beautiful earth. Do you honestly believe this order came from disorder?

Anyway, this person goes on to explain that human genes are undergoing rapid evolution. What this writer calls evolution would be better called changes. Changes are not evolutionary. The mind is getting smarter as man goes on. Mankind is learning at a breakneck pace. But after all is said and done, we are still, “humans.” I wonder pray tell what we will evolve into next? Answer, nothing! We will still be the species we have always been when God created us, humans.

There are dogs, and cats, and horses, and fish. There are types of dogs, and cats, and horses and fish. When all is said and done dogs will always be dogs and cats will always be cats. And by golly, finches will always be birds!

To simply sum up the facts, there are, “variations,” within most all species, with the obvious exception of human beings. Monkeys are not and never have been, human.

Theories are nice to entertain, but like all stories of fiction they are better left on the shelves of libraries listed under fiction.

Truth And Consequences

February 9, 2007

Can faith in a personal God and science walk hand in hand? This is a question that has stirred emotion, and not a few verbal exchanges and postering, from both sides of logic and reasoning for a number of years. I am a Christian, and so my stance will be from a Biblical understanding of the world, living beings, and nature in general. A scientist in most cases though must see things in a different light altogether. And let me say that this fact is not in and of itself bad. There are obviously laws scientists must observe in in their particular fields. Facts are proven, or supposed to be, and are gathered and catalogued in order to maintain a standing within their community. If it cannot be subjectfully, and empirically proven, it cannot be at this juncture truth as far as they are concerned. There are problems however with this fact though. Many a man or woman will never accept the Gospel to be saved on that fateful last day. This is the price that most in the field of science will pay in the end.

However, we can take heart that there are some God fearing scientists, and thankfully this list is growing. For the most part science takes an agnostic position. They neither believe in God nor disbelieve. I consider that a more noble and honest stance than atheism— in which one will totally deny the existence of a supreme being— such as God without proof. This is because there is no science that I am aware of that can prove that God does or does not exist. One man has offered a million dollars to anyone who can prove that God exists. If I had a million dollars I would offer it to anyone who could prove that God does not exist. What is the difference? I have faith that God exists and this gentleman does not. My belief is based on faith; and that is the heart and soul of Bible truth to Christians.

Many years ago religion and science actually did co-exist. It would have been unthinkable for one to try and separate the two, although for a while science was forced into this marriage with theology, by a power weilding Catholic church. Scientists delved into their work with the knowledge that they were actually inching ever closer to God with every new discovery they made in the field of science. It is too bad that as with the Greeks and Romans in times gone by, mankind has become too wise once again to believe in such childish notions as a God that created the heavens and the earth, and all that we can behold today. History repeats itself over and over again. Just as the Bible states, ” What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.”(Ecclesiastes 1:9) Now we have educated people that feel that it should be unthinkable to question science regarding their supposed truths. Heres an example:

“Nevertheless, the question frames a problem with the stance of the anti-science creationists that threatens not only their version of the world’s origins, but also the credibility of their religion itself. Because by attempting to marshal empirical evidence in support of their beliefs, they enter the debate on the scientists’ terms – terms that cannot possibly work in favor of a literal reading of the Bible. By playing in this arena, haven’t the creationists already lost the argument”? Tom Krattenmaker

The Bible vs. science USA Today

I feel this a greatly misguided and error filled paragraph. For it has been found time and again that science cannot always be trusted. We have witnessed mistakes made by scientists who do not always feel the need to set the record straight. For example, in their quest to find the so called, “missing link,” of modern man. Someone is always and forever, “finding that elusive skull! The skull that will connect monkeys and humans. And each and every time it is found to be no more than a wild goose chase once again. The dating systems such as, “carbon 14,” that have proven to be flawed in a lot of cases.

We have had out right lies in which scientists were in effect attempting to cash in and make a name for themselves. We cannot always depend on the science community to police themselves thats for sure. The stakes are high and it is like searching for the proverbial pot of evolutionary gold. And so what is wrong with the religious right, as we are called, watching over them as well?

There is however much science to be found within the pages of the Bible. Things that the inspired writers of the Word in that age could have never known or even understood without guidance from the hand of the Lord. And I cannot help but to list a few of them here:

Job 26:7
He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.

Here we see that God tells us that He has hung the earth freely with the use of gravity. How could this have been known by man?

Ecclesiastes 1:6
The wind goes toward the south,
And turns around to the north;
The wind whirls about continually,
And comes again on its circuit.

A constant cycle of the atmospere which is meteorilogically correct.

Leviticus 17:11
‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

We know really just recently that the blood is the true life force of living beings.

Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.

Psycology has found that ones attitude is paramount to health. Laughter is actually good medicine. And God told us that about 3000 years ago.

Job 36:27-29
For He draws up drops of water,
Which distill as rain from the mist,
Which the clouds drop down
And pour abundantly on man.
Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds,
The thunder from His canopy?

This is incredible! It is truely amazing that this fact was penned so very long ago. How could they have know this?

These are just a few facts that the Bible provides representing different fields of science. How could man know that mankind was conceived by, and of, the dust of the earth. Science knows that humans are primarily composed of carbon and amino acid molocules. The writers of the Bible had no idea of these complicated issues. The only answer to that riddle is that their pens were guided by the hand of God.

Everything on this earth and beyond was created from nothing. The Hebrew word for, “Create,” is, “Bara,” and it means something that is made from absolutely nothing. Science cannot now, nor will they ever, be able to make something from nothing. Yes, science forever is saying they have created something new. However, all they are doing, is making something from items already at their disposal. God made man from nothing. It was He that created carbon. It was He that created amino acids and water. He created atoms and matter of every kind along with the energy needed for a jump start in the creation of life. The Bible tells us that God made man from the dust of the earth and that is literally what we are! The Bible also tells us that when we die, our physical bodies decay and return to the dust from which we came.

I really wish folks’ would sit down and think about where they came from. I wish they would investigate the Bible and what It means for them. Why would one not want to have the chance to know the truth of life and what really matters?

I would invite anyone this day to look at the Bible with fresh eyes if you have already looked at it. If you have not given It so much as a thought, I implore you this day, to pick up that Book and read It. You may be surprised at what you find. What you might find is, “A peace that passes all understanding. ” And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philipians 4:7)

In closing I will leave you with an exellent source of information found on the net. ICR does some great work and they are passionate about what they do. Please give them a peek.
